Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Nairobi – Nanyuki – Sirimon Gate – Old Moses Camp (3,300m)

    Depart Nairobi and drive to Nanyuki, the main gateway for Mount Kenya tours. Proceed to Sirimon Gate (2,650m) and begin your trek through forest into moorland. Distance: 9km Duration: 3–4 hours Overnight at Old Moses Camp.

  2. Day 2

    Old Moses Camp – Likii Camp (3,900m)

    Trek through moorland, crossing Ontulili River and enjoying scenic landscapes as you gain altitude gradually. Duration: 4–5 hours Slow ascent for better acclimatization

  3. Day 3

    Likii Camp – Shipton Camp (4,200m)

    Continue trekking through Mackinders Valley with stunning views of the peaks and surrounding landscapes. Duration: 4–5 hours Overnight at Shipton Camp.

  4. Day 4

    Acclimatization Day – Shipton Camp (4,200m)

    Take an acclimatization hike to higher altitude (e.g. Hausberg Col ~4,600m) and return to camp.  This day significantly improves summit success rates

    Shipton Camp – Point Lenana – Old Moses Camp
